This policy explains what personal data The Wind Academia collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
The Wind Academia (TWA) is a music school at TWA Studio, 80 Changi Road, #02-48 Centropod@Changi, Singapore 419715. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). If you have a question about your personal data, email [email protected] or WhatsApp us on +65 8093 3206.
What we collect
When you sign up for a trial lesson or consultation on this website, we collect:
- what you’re interested in: the programme, the instrument and when you’d like to start
- who is learning: a child or teen, an adult or a senior
- your name and WhatsApp number
- your email address, if you give it
- anything you write in the notes box, such as your goals or the best days for you
When you book the studio, the website opens WhatsApp with your request filled in. The details go straight to us as a WhatsApp message; the website doesn’t store them.
We don’t ask for your NRIC, FIN or passport number, or for bank or card details, on this website. Please don’t send them through our forms.
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets a few small cookies to tell visits apart, and records the pages you view, how you found us (for example a Google search, one of our Google ads or Instagram), your rough location (city or country), your type of device and browser, and whether you start or send a sign-up form, open WhatsApp or go to buy tickets. We use this to see which pages and ads lead to enquiries. It doesn’t tell us your name or contact details, and it isn’t used to show you personalised ads. The concert videos are YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embeds, and YouTube may set its own cookies only when you play one.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to you and arrange your trial lesson or consultation. If you join us, we use them to keep in touch with the learner and their family about lessons, rehearsals, concerts and membership.
We don’t sell, rent or share your details for marketing. We don’t use your details to train AI, and we don’t use them to make automated decisions about you.
Who handles it for us
A few trusted services help us run the website and keep in touch. They handle your details only to provide their service:
- Google (Forms, Sheets and Gmail) receives and stores sign-ups, and our email.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It processes basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser, to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. To stop spam, our sign-up form keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address for up to two days; it can’t be turned back into your address and is then deleted automatically.
- Google Analytics (Google) measures visits to this website, as described above, and tells our Google Ads account when an ad led to an enquiry. It doesn’t keep your IP address.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries your messages if you contact us there or book the studio.
- YouTube (Google) plays the concert videos, only when you press play.
Some of these services may store data outside Singapore. They protect it under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We review sign-ups every quarter and delete the details of anyone who hasn’t joined us. If you sign up with us, we keep your details to communicate with you as a learner or family.
Google Analytics deletes detailed visit data after 14 months.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected] or WhatsApp us, and we’ll reply as soon as we can.
To stop Google Analytics counting your visits, block cookies for this website in your browser or install Google’s opt-out add-on.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
