About The Wind Academia

We believe music brings people together.

Learners of every age make music side by side at TWA, on stage and as one community. Whether you're new to music, returning after years away or aiming for new heights, you'll find encouragement here: shared laughter, kind words and the applause of people playing alongside you.

Our motto and our logo

Let’s play together

Our motto is simple, because music isn’t only about learning notes. It’s about sharing, performing and growing together, and our logo carries the same idea in three parts.

  1. The lyre from The Wind Academia logo

    The lyre

The harp badge worn on many ceremonial band uniforms, and a nod to our beginnings as band educators: music is at the heart of everything we do.

Ensembles you won’t find elsewhere. Brass ensembles, pop bands, percussion groups and flute duets give every learner a place to play with others.

  2. The laurel branches from The Wind Academia logo

    The laurel branches

Worn as crowns in ancient Greece for learning, achievement and honour. For us, learning is a lifelong journey, taken with curiosity, commitment and purpose.

On stage within weeks. Every learner gets the chance to play in an ensemble and perform in concert soon after starting.

  3. The circle of words and laurels from The Wind Academia logo

    The circle

Our name and the laurels form a complete circle: unity, inclusivity, and the connection between learning, playing and community.

Community first. From the Pop Band Experience to the Harmonia Ensemble, the community band we support, music at TWA is always a shared journey.
